Charlotte Sheedy
After working at the Dial Press for thirteen years, Charlotte established the Charlotte Sheedy Literary Agency in 1974. In 1995, she joined Sterling Lord Literistic, Inc., as an affiliate agency. Her agency now represents a distinguished list of authors and among them are Lani Guinier, Diane McWhorter (2002 Pulitzer Prize recipient), Mark Kurlanksy, Mary Frances Berry, Eve Ensler, Marilyn French, Blanche Cook, Laurie Garrett (1996 Pulitzer Prize recipient), Nell Painter, (Estate of) Audre Lorde, Cameron Tuttle, Lee Buttala, Sean Conway, Daniel Handler, Debra Weinstein, Tim Tyson, Linda Gordon, and Vivian Gornick, to name a few from her list of 125 writers for the adult market. Her agency also has had great success in the children's book market with authors such as Lemony Snicket, Jacqueline Woodson, Maira Kalman, E.R. Frank, Janet McDonald, Adele Griffin, Lisa Brown, Christopher Curtis, Yuyi Morales and many others.
