Tyler Monson, Associate Agent
Tyler joined Sterling Lord Literistic, Inc. in 2023, where he works closely with Doug Stewart, Neeti Madan, and Nadyne Pike. He represents forthcoming books by Maggie Menditto (Norton) and Kira Chung Judish (Harper), and is actively building a list of distinctive, voice-driven writers. Tyler is drawn to fiction that ruptures routine and transforms the textures of everyday life into something electric—novels grounded in a strong sense of place, with charged family dynamics, and a current of restless desire, particularly when shaped by playfulness or formal invention. He is especially interested in literary and upmarket fiction that balances emotional depth with narrative momentum. In nonfiction, Tyler seeks projects that center voices and experiences from the margins of the social, political, and cultural mainstream. He is looking to work on literary criticism, essay collections, and ambitious, idea-driven projects—especially those engaging with data, its uses, and its cultural implications—as well as anything related to tennis. Tyler holds a Ph.D. in American Literature and has taught at Dartmouth College, the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, and Marquette University.
